Position: Bookkeeper / Payroll Staff

$18 - $20 /Hour
Job Description

We have a Bookkeeper / Payroll Staff position available at a small accounting management company for a motivated individual. The company is offering this full-time permanent opportunity based in San Leandro, California and provides potential for growth and rewards for hard work. As Bookkeeper / Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for Maintaining and recording a complete and systematic set of business transactions and assist with month end closing. Review and reconcile subsidiary ledgers and prepares reports to show misc income receipts and accounts payable expenditures in Quickbooks Pro. Report and work directly under supervision of the accountant.

Accounts payables – perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. Maintain vendor files to ensure that the practices’ bills are paid on time and that they are not overcharged for any services/purchases. Review and verify invoices, check request and expense reports to sort, code, track, and enter invoices into system to set up for payments. Prepare and perform check runs and process electronic payments.

Payroll – process bi-weekly payroll bi-weekly in ADP and input into Quickbooks Pro general ledger

Accounts Receivable – Input bank statement receipts into the proper general ledger income account. Monitor Medical Director Fees.

Year End Responsibilities – 1099 Filing for contractor vendors; 571L Forms (fixed assets for personal property); Secretary of State – Statement of Information (Domestic stock for corporations and LLC’s); and Annual business license renewal

Misc Task – Filing, answer phones, email, fax documents, and greet visitors

Job Requirements and Skills

1-3 years experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. General accounting procedures knowledge along with Quick books Pro software experience. Have a bookkeeping certification from a trade school or associate degree in accounting.

•Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficient in data entry management
•Good written and verbal communication skills
