Job Description

Position Title: Curatorial Assistant
Position Status: Full Time
Reports to: Assistant Director of Gallery Operations
Location: Latour Court, with weekly site visits to gallery locations in Napa, Yountville, St. Helena, and Healdsburg

Core Responsibilities:

The Curatorial Assistant is a critical support figure for gallery programming and operations, including artist showcases, Decorum events, strategic business partners, and online platforms.


Responsibilities include:

• Support and coordinate curatorial calendar planning
• Assistance with gallery artist pipeline and
• Liaise with marketing department and provide support for marketing initiatives including showcase announcements and communications, Decorum events, and gallery newsletters
• Update content and details of gallery website and e-commerce sites, Artsy and 1stDibs
• Attend and provide assistance for quarterly Decorum events and pop up gallery events
• Maintain contact details of gallery artists, Decorum clients, and strategic business partners
• Assist gallery directors and VP’s with artist and strategic partner communications
• Support gallery directors and VP’s with business to business relationships and gallery experiences, referral partner blitzes, etc.
• Maintain artist CV’s and product descriptions
• Coordinate details of and take minutes for standing gallery meetings
• Assist Gallery Operations team with art intake, distribution, and returns
• Special projects as required


Education/Experience Requirements:

• 2 years art, luxury retail, interior design showroom, or home furnishing experience preferred
• B.A./B.S. Degree, with Art, Art History, or Design focus a plus

Core Qualifications & Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Personable and professional demeanor
• Ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a rapidly changing environment
• Must be extremely detail-oriented
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
• Must possess a valid driver's license

Computer Proficiency:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Photoshop
• Knowledge of Salesforce.com, artwork databases, Adobe InDesign, and/or Microsoft Publisher a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
