IT Desktop and Field Technician for Managed IT Services Company (San Francisco)

General Summary of Position
We are looking for someone to share in responsibilities of Helpdesk support, System Administration, and Network administration. You will be responsible for handling first or second level support requests both at client sites (primarily in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Mateo) and remotely in our San Francisco office. This position is a great opportunity to work with our clients, learn about and support all aspects of their networks, to include: Desktop Support, virtual servers, hybrid cloud environments, printers, LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, and vendor specific software, and SAAS applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide best-in-class IT Support involving Microsoft's Business Applications and Operating Systems
Basic technical support at the network level: LAN and WAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
Excellent communication with customers is required: keeping end user informed if incidents progress, notifying end user of impending changes
Basic remote access solutions, implementation and support of VPN and Terminal Services
Utilize remote monitoring and management tools for system alerts and notifications, respond accordingly through service tickets
Mac OSX skillset is also desired
System documentation in our Wiki, proactive maintenance, and updating tickets in our customer management system (Connectwise)
Seek opportunities to improve knowledge, skills, customer environment, and overall processes

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
IMMACULATE customer service, perception, and satisfaction in work
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
Escalate service requests that require higher engineer level support
Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as it occurs
Understand processes in ConnectWise by completing assigned training materials on the CW University online

Knowledge, Skills, and or Abilities Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or/ability required
Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems
Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, excellent written and verbal skills, active listening and customer-care
Diagnosis skills of technical issues
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
Service Awareness of all organization's key IT services for which support is being provided
Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
Self- motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
Relevant Certifications from Microsoft are a plus
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in this type of role.
