We are currently seeking a Human Resource Manager to work in our Larkspur office. The HR Manager is responsible for the daily administration of Human Resource services in compliance with organization policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate would meet the following qualifications:
Education / Experience
• Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of experience in Human Resource administration.
• PHR certification preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of information provided by Human Resource department.
• Conduct regularly scheduled audits of HR systems to ensure survey readiness and compliance with organization policies.
• Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
• Act as a resource for staff and management to ensure their understanding and compliance with HR policies and regulations. Keep Director of Human resources advised of potential problem areas.
• In the absence of the Director of Human Resources, provide advice and guidance to senior managers on handling of sensitive personnel matters.
• Serve as an advocate for organization personnel.
• Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resource management.
• Manage EEO compliance and ensure filing by corresponding deadline(s).
• Participate in organization’s safety efforts including tracking and trending work related injuries and serving as a member of the safety committee.
• Provide information to unemployment claims administrator and if necessary, represent organization at unemployment hearings.
• Monitor status of workers compensation claims and provides weekly updates to Director of Human Resources. Monitor status of employee leaves to ensure regulatory compliance and proper administration of employee benefits.
• Coordinate annual open enrollment process. Act as liaison with insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships with client representatives.
• Participate in task forces and committees as directed.
• Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all client, vendor and agency-related contacts.
• Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to Hospice by the Bay procedures, programs and services.
• Maintain confidentiality according to agency policies and procedures.

Recruit, manage, coach and develop staff to achieve agency goals in accordance with Hospice By the Bay policy, accreditation, and regulatory standards including but not limited to:
o Ensuring job responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined and communicated, work is assigned and distributed appropriately, staff are appropriately trained and cross-trained, and performance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
o Regularly providing formal and informal feedback to staff and conducts periodic individual coaching including completing well thought out and well-documented annual performance reviews in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
o Fostering collaboration by promoting cooperative goals and building trust
o Motivating for increased results
o Developing staff’s skills and encouraging growth including creating an environment for people to share what they are learning
o Treating employees equally without demonstrating favoritism or preferential treatment to an individual or group
o Demonstrating knowledge and supportof established HR policies and procedures
