Milpitas Evening Administrator
San Jose/Evergreen Community College District

The San Jose - Evergreen Community College District is currently recruiting for a Milpitas Evening Administrator. This is a temporary assignment through 6/30/18 with the possibility of extension.

Hourly pay is $41.13. Working hours are Monday – Thursday, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM and some Saturdays. Position will be located at The SJECCD College Extension, 1450 Esquela Parkway, Milpitas, CA 95035

Under the direction of the Director of College Extension or assigned administrator, the Milpitas Evening Administrator has primary accountability for operations of an assigned satellite facility of the San Jose City College during evening hours and weekends. This position provides direct support for students and instructors, coordination with maintenance and security, coordination of site operations with the main campus departments, and provides community outreach regarding the satellite. This position may include supervision of temporary, part-time or student employees.

Duties and Responsibilities/Specific to Position:

Provide administrative support during evening and weekend operations of the Milpitas Extension and serve as site administrator in the absence of the Director.
Monitor status of facilities and equipment, and communicate needs to the Director for resolution.
Execute strategies and operational plans to ensure the growth of the site.
Provide various liaison with campus departments, such as testing, counseling and related student services.
Support the Site’s relationship with the Milpitas Unified School District.
Maintain liaison with local agencies including speaking to community groups regarding the site offerings and participating in community events.
Collect, compile, and record data on the Extension’s innovative projects/initiatives.
Collaborate with the outreach efforts of Admissions and Records.
Provide in-person and telephone reception for the site.
May supervise temporary or student employees
Perform other duties as assigned.


Modern office practices and procedures including establishing and maintaining filing systems.
Recordkeeping systems and methods.
Basic marketing and promotional techniques.
Functions, authorities and responsibilities of the various college departments, and practices and procedures of registration.
Basic computer operations and data entry techniques, including word processing.
English grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work, including methods of outreach to specific population groups.
Understand and explain policies, procedures and forms related to registration and class enrollment.
Operate and perform basic operator maintenance of standard office machines and equipment including computers.
Exercise sound independent judgment within procedural guidelines.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.


Associate degree in business administration, education or related field.
Demonstrated experience of secondary or post-secondary education site or program management
